Visit the DIY storeSection through a metal roof edge. The mesh is held on the sheet by a Colorbond saddle, runs over the end of the sheet and is fixed to the gutter's front bead with a colour-matched trim. The gutter is cut away to show the rain collecting inside. Tile roofs use the same mesh, tucked under the second row of tiles.

Starlings and Indian mynas get in under roofing and valleys. The mesh covers the roof cavity completely, so there is nowhere for them to get through.

Rain reaches the gutter without the leaf litter, so what you collect is cleaner and there is more of it. Keeping debris and standing water out also slows the rust that shortens a gutter's life.
The mesh will not break or tear, and it takes the knocks from falling branches that flatten lighter products. It also keeps the roof line free of the debris build-up that makes a house look neglected.
